Domain Name Registration FAQ

How do I renew my domain's registration?
Please visit Website Source Hosting Domain Renewal page to renew your domain name's registration.

Where do I go to Manage my Domain?
Please visit this page to begin to make changes to your Domain.

What is domain propagation?
When a visitor types your domain name into their Web browser, their request is referred to a nameserver that indicates the physical location (the IP address) of your domain on the Internet. When your site location changes to a new IP address, or when a new domain name is added, nameservers around the world must be notified of the change. This process is referred to as propagation.

Propagation normally requires 24-48 hours. During this period, if you are transferring your domain, some nameservers will refer to the old location of your site and some to the new location. Therefore, a visitor accessing your site may be directed to either the old or new location. It is usually best to keep your previous hosting company until your transfer is verified as having taken place.

How do I register a domain name and web hosting with Website Source Hosting?
Website Source will register your domain name through an ICANN accredited Domain Registrar for $7.95 per year. This is a savings of $40 over the Network Solutions rate that most hosting companies use!Just complete the Hosting Order Form (just check the box that says "New Domain" and we will register your domain name and setup your hosting account instantly!).

Can I register a domain name if I am not ready to sign up for hosting yet?
Yes. We can register your domain name and you can set up a hosting account later. And, we will point your domain name to Website Source Hosting servers so that when you sign up for hosting, your new domain name will be ready to use. (No transfer will be necessary.) Register a .com, .net or .org domain name up to 67 characters total for 1-10 years.

To register your domain name without a hosting account just type in your domain name (in the blue rectangle that says "Domain Name Registration") on our Domain's page.

Yes, you can make changes to your domain name here.

Do I need to pay attention to my domain registration's expiration date and ensure it is kept current?
Yes. It is your responsibility to verify that the registration of your domain name is complete. And, then the domain name registration comes up for renewal, the Domain Name Registration Company ordinarily will email the contact for your domain to remind you it will soon expire. If you do not keep your domain name's registration current, then the domain registration will expire and the domain would then become available for others to register. It is your responsibility to be certain that you keep your domain name registered. You can check the expiration date of your domain's registration here.

I renewed my domain name through this web site, but now I have questions. Where can I find answers?
Please refer to this page for answers relating to a Transfer of Registrar or Renewal.

Want to park a new domain under your existing account?
Just order your new domain on the domains page (in the blue rectangle that says "Domain Name Registration"), then contact tech support at: helpdesk.websitesource.com and and tell us your Account Domain Name and the new Domain Name. We will park your newly registered Domain for free.

What is a parked domain?
Parked domains are not separate accounts, they are merely pointers to an existing web site rental account. Parked domains do not have their own IP address, SEPERATE EMAIL ADDRESSES or their own control panel.

I changed my mind about the domain name that I registered. Is it too late to change it?
Once you register a domain name, you cannot "un-register" it. If you find that the domain name you chose no longer suits your business or personal needs, you should register another domain name. The domain name you originally registered will continue to be registered to you until the end of the registration period. Registration and re-registration fees are non-refundable.

Website hosting customer feedback

I've been with you guys about 9 months now. I can say nothing but great things about your company. The support is very good, VPS is very reliable, easy to use and administer. your support always goes the extra mile to help us with roadblocks that we sometimes fumble with. I know each of your CSR's by name and consider your company to be more than a vendor...you're good friends that we can count on to help us run Website Source Hosting business. I recently received a support survey from a competitor of yours that we used to do business with (until we found you). One of the questions was, "what can we do to be improve Website Source Hosting support?" My response was, "Close your company down, go to work for websitesource.com (the best in the biz) and learn how a real web services company is run." They probably didn't like hearing that. Thanks again for making Website Source Hosting lives easier. Josh, Ken, Adam, Chris...you guys are awesome.

Ben
