osCommerce

Install osCommerce & Get Started

This section provides a detailed view of the install process by following these simple steps:

1. Login to your web hosting control panel.
2. Scroll down until you see the Ecommerce section and click the "osCommerce" icon.
3. Turn "on" osCommerce.
4. At the next screen you will see the "MySQL" section - click "Next".
5. Name your database anything you like and click "Next" again.
6. Choose a password and click "Next".
7. You're done.
   

Tip: It's best to install in your root directory by removing anything from the directory path when prompted. This will install to your domain name like (www.mystore.com). If you want another location like (www.mystore.com/store/), type /store/ or any name you want.

To access your osCommerce administrator's console and setup your store, log back into your web hosting control panel and click the same icon as above.

Next, you will see a series of icons which will allow you to access the e-shop configuration section. Click the icon on the far right to login.

Ready To Get Started?

• If you have a shared hosting account, simply log on to your administrator’s control panel and click on the osCommerce icon.
• VPS hosting clients can simply click on the System tab, located on the administrator’s screen, and osCommerce will launch and install.
