• Make sure your resume contains keywords that will help employers match your skills with open positions. Relevant keywords can vastly improve your chances of getting an employer’s attention.
• When you begin your search, try a variation of keywords to get a sense of what kind of results each word can bring you. 
• Search the web for newspapers in areas where you would like to work and check out the help wanted ads. Online trade magazines geared to your aspirations can also be a good source of career information.  
• Most online job sites will have a small space where you can post a cover letter. Make sure that yours reflects your experience, talent and enthusiasm.
• Apply at corporate websites. Many companies have links to their open positions and career opportunities that are available. 

Once you begin your search, make it a practice to update your information every couple of weeks. All else being equal, the resumes with the most recent dates will show up at the top of the employer’s search results. Participate in online chat rooms to learn about job seeking tips that have worked for other applicants.

Be realistic. Make sure that the jobs you are applying for match your skill set.  Don’t let yourself become discouraged. Keep a positive attitude and good luck in your search!
